This new wave of technology is likely to have a more profound impact on the lives of our children than almost anything that has come before.

To exacerbate this issue, our recent history of thoughtfully ushering in new technology, especially for younger generations has been poor - see social media.

So it is incumbent on parents to understand the fundamentals of AI so that they can start to be part of the broader conversations in society, at work and in educational institutions that will shape the next decade.
